Part of a 3 station drill setup. 10-15 mins at each station. Players work through overlaps and distribute the ball as they overlap around to each other, before passing to the next duo to do the same back the other way.

Split the players into two equal teams and give and give each player in each team a number from 1 to 4 (or however many we have). One team behind one goal, and one team behind the opposite goal. Coach shots numbers, and players matching those numbers race for the ball and play 1v1 until the ball is out of play, or a goal is scored. This can also be progressed from 1v1 to calling out multiple numbers to increase players on the pitch. This can also be progressed to having multiple balls in play too.

All players partner up in twos. Two become defenders and the rest line up ready to attack. This is a fast paced 2v1 game where two attackers work together to try and score with 1 defender that aims to clear the ball out of play. As soon as the ball is dead, the defending pair switch, and the next attacking pair attack. The aim is to keep this session relatively fast paced. The coach can feed the balls in to make sure each attacking players gets enough opportunities to start with the ball, and there is an element of having to control the ball. The idea is this works decision making when attacking with an extra player. Each session runs for 2 minutes or a set number of balls and then the defending team switches out for another 2 players.

Warm Up
Teams work in 3s. 1 player in the middle and 2 on the outside. The outside players play the ball into the middle player, they control, turn and pass out to the opposite side. Then do it gain. The race is based on numbers of passes. First to 20 passes wins. Then switch the player in the middle. This can be progressed into 1 touch passes on the outside, and weaker foot passing. This can also be progressed into dribble races too for full warm up.
