Dribbling and Turning with the Ball

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
-create 3 grids of 20x10 yards, with 4 players and 2 balls per grid
-2 target players, 1 attacker and 1 defender.
Procedure:
Attacker moves to lose defender, receive ball from 1 target, turn, and pass to other target (targets can move side to side but not enter the play area). Then go back the other way. If defender wins the ball, they pass to a target. Keep same attacker and defender for 1-2 mins, then switch with targets. On second rotation into the middle attacker and defender switch roles (keep time in middle short to keep intensity and keep players in 1 role so they get a good amount of tries at that position).
Coaching Points:
-movement of attacker to lose defender
-body position of attacker when receiving the ball
-surface of foot/turn to use depending on position of defender
-movement of other target to create a passing lane

Organization:
-create 2 grids of 20x20 yard area with 4 blue and 4 red players (2 targets per team and 2 inside the area per team)
-8 to 10 cones
Procedure:
Blue plays north south and red plays east west. Same as previous exercise, must get the ball from 1 target to other, but now have a teammate to help (don't have to both touch ball but at least 1 player must, ball can't go straight from target to target). If other team wins the ball they become the attackers and play to their targets. Play for 2-3 mins and switch players on inside to keep intensity.
Coaching Points:
-movement of attacker to lose defender
-body position of attacker when receiving the ball
-surface of foot/turn to use depending on position of defender
-movement of other target to create a passing lane
-movement of 2nd player (take defender away to create space/be an option for pass).

Organization:
-create a grid of 15x20 yards (adapt size depending on numbers)
-2 nets
-16 to 18 cones
Procedure:
4v4/5v5 small-sided game with field divideed into 4 areas with diagonal lines. Aim is for players to stay within their zones and move the ball into their team mates in other areas (lots of 1v1 duels).
Progressions:
1. Can follow pass into other area (making 2v1)
2. No zones - open 5v5
Coaching Points:
-know where your marker is
-get goal-side of the ball when your team loses it
-use shielding skills to protect the ball
-use turning skills to get away from defender

Coaching Points:
-type of turn
-weight of pass
-pre-scan
-body position
