3 cone passing drill. (With reaction)
2 players stand behind 3 cones with 1 player having a ball and 1 goal keeper working.
If 2 GK's are working then both servers have a ball.
Goal-keeper moves over to each end of the cone to receive the ball, calling out the players name and type of pass to receive.
Goal-keeper then takes a touch outside of body to play to other receiver and repeat on the other side.
Progression:
- Goal-keeper controls the ball using other types of touches. (outside of foot) the plays the ball to a selected target outside the area.
- Increase distance of pass to be able to play the receivers standing further back using a driven or lobbed pass.
- Player who receives on the outer side takes a heavy touch for the goalkeeper to quickly react and come and gather at the strikers feet.
Coaching Points:
- When collecting at the attackers feet correct gathering technique.
- Front foot take off
- Skip set
- Cover head once collecting ball, one holds the ball and the other protects the head.

Balls in behind defence:
1 goal keeper working with other goal-keepers split as either defenders or attackers.
Coach is set up just in front of the half way line, passes the ball around with the attacking players and on the coaches mark he will play a ball in behind the defenders for the goal keeper to deal with.
Goal keeper to try and organise their defence to stop the attackers from getting to the ball. communicating with their defence to keep organised.

1v1 Open play.
1 Goalkeeper working with other players set up around the box. Coach serving to begin with.
Play begins with a ball being sent from a server to the goal keeper, any form of serve, can be thrown, volleyed and shot.
Keeper makes a save and plays the ball back to the server, They can either take a touch and compete 1 v 1 with the keeper of play a first time ball through the mannequins for the goal keeper to rush onto.
Any ball that is played to an outside player must be taken as a 1 v 1 or through ball. no shots to begin with
Ball rotation is continuous to ensure no players are standing around.
Progression:
- Players on the outside are able to take a touch in and shot.
- Goal-keepers keep score of successful blocks

Moving Rondos (10 mins)
All players positioned within a 10m x 10m area, depending on numbers 2 defenders to win the ball back. Players do not need to stay stationary . players are able to freely move around the area.
Defenders rotate out once they have won the ball.
Players around the outside of the area play the ball around with a maximum of two touches.
Progression:
- Attacking players have 1 touch to pass around the area
- Every 10 successfull passes made the defenders stay in for an extra round.
Attacking players to work on succesfull passing and hitting targets with firm passes and using communication skills to keep ball away from defenders.
