Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): Animation - 2 Goals vs. 1 Goal

Animation - 2 Goals vs. 1 Goal (15 mins)

Instructions:

Place two small goals 5-7 yards apart on one end of the playing field
On the other end of the field create one large goal
Divide the players into 2 teams. One team will try to score on the big goal and the other team is trying to score in either of the small goals.
Play 2v2 or 3v3 rotating players every couple of minutes.
After a set period of play have both teams switch goals.

Progressions:

Make the teams uneven allowing the team scoring on the two small goals to have one more player than the team scoring on one big goal.
Allow the team with the one big goal to have a goalie.

Coaching Points:

Head Up - How can you help the players with the ball? Where are your teammates?
Can players spread out to create space and thus be able to score on net farthest away from the bunch?
Can players create a “backdoor pass”?
