Defender on the Side 1v1's:
Defender will pass out to Attacker, Attacking player bounces back to Defender, Defender bounces back to Attacker (3 passes) then the game is live, outplay the defender until point is made or ball goes out of play. Attacking player must dribble across endline through gate for point or pass through gate to attacker and recieive ball back in attacking zone, defender tries to win and play to target.
Play 3 minutes and rotate, keep track of points per individual
Goal:
To get players comfortable outplaying opponents in the 1v1 moment when the Defender is On the Side.
Coaching Points:
-Use Arm bar to help shield the ball and feel for the defender to turn away from the pressure.
-Explode away once the defender is beat
-When defender is beat, look for dribbling angle to cut the defender out of the play
-Create passing angle to play vertical and move in between lines
