Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Playing through Central Midfield (Start Time: 2022-06-15 18:00:00)

Main Activity (15 mins)

Organization:

• 6v4 (2v1 on inside, 4v3 on outside)
• Mini goals added around field
• 1 ball (Extra balls with coach)

Instructions:

• White possesses and scores 1 point either by connecting 5 passes outside of the red square or connecting a pass through one of their two central players inside the square
• If blue wins possession they can score in any of the mini goals
• 2-minute rounds

Coaching Points/Questions:

• 2nd attacker - support
• 3rd attacker - stretch the field
• Movement as the ball travels
• Decision-making around when to score centrally or around the outside 

Progressions:

• Situational e.g. White is down 2 goals, play for 2 minutes

Regressions:

Conditioned Game (20 mins)

Organization:

• Same as previous
• Teams set up 3-4-1 formation as applicable

Instructions:

• If a team plays through central square and scores it's worth 3x

Coaching Points/Questions:

• 2nd attackers - movement to be an option (preferably in the square)
• 3rd attackers - stretch the field to exploit space
