Set Up: 25x25 Box (Larger or smaller depending on ability or player numbers), (2) teams of 4 with 3 neutral players. (CM, and two target players)
Instructions: Outside team and 3 neutral players (Blue & White) keep possession while the inside team of 4 (Yellow) attempts to win the ball. If the inside team winds the ball, they retain possession and switches with (Blue) who now becomes the defending team.
Focus: On the transition moment, of when a team loses a ball then tries to win a ball back. How fast can they regain a ball? Finding target players on the outside, using the CM. Player movement to support and provide options off the ball.
Constraints & Variations: Neutral team and outside 4 have to move the ball from one end of the grid to the other. (Directional play using the 3 neutrals.

The concept of this session is to encourage a quick transition from the offensive side of the ball to the defensive side of the ball.
The continuous rotation of counter attacking and defending repeats.
Focus: Defending players sliding in behind attacking team mates. Quick transition from defending to attacking.

PASSING BY NUMBERS (10 mins)
SET UP: 25x25 Grid (or right sized to the number of players),
Instruction: Number the players off 1 through to the last player. Start with 2 Balls for players 1 & 3.Have the players pass in sequence, then move into space to receive another ball coming their way.
Progression: Restart and add in another ball, eventually to the point where every second player in the group has a ball to pass, before turning to receive another ball.
Constraints: When there are a low number of balls in play, have players run to touch a cone the furthest away from them to encourage movement off the ball. Have players pass with just their left or right foot taking a touch with the opposite foot.
Focus: The main goal of this part is introducing, practicing and developing their ball control.
Creativity is important, having contact with different parts of their body, footwork, make them think, solve game situations, increase the communication between each other and gain confidence on their skills. Increase difficulty of the variations progressively. Push players to work with both feet, moment to also focus on their weak foot.
