This session is designed for a 60 minute Player Development Academy session that is mainly made up of recreational players.

Objective: to improve combination play and finishing.
Organization: 2 teams of players one line on each side of the coach. 20x30 grid
Instructions: Coach passes the ball into the middle and yells out a number. That number of players enter the grid and play. Coach can keep adding players "add 2..." Coach keeps playing balls into the grid until a goal is scored OR the coach can tell everyone to "get out of there" and they all sprint back to the line.
Variations: NA

Objective: improve our dribbling skills.
Organization: Field is set up with 3 zones that are each 15 yards wide and 10 yards long.
Instructions: Players try to dribble from the first safe zone, through the danger zone, into the other safe zone.
Variations: (1) start without the ball and they just have to run through without getting tagged. (2) then make the "bulldogs" bear crawl. (3) then allow the bulldogs to run.

Objective: improve speed and dribbling.
Organization: Set up one small goal and 3 flags on each side of the goal organized in a zig zag.
Instructions: players sprint through the flags then the coach passes a ball toward the goal. They play 1v1.
Variations: you can start with no ball and they just sprint past the goal. You can also adjust the course.

Objective: Improve the techniques of dribbling
Organization: 15 x 20 grid with cone goal in every corner. Every player with a ball.
Instructions: All but two players are trying to dribble around and go through as many of the cone goals as possible. Every time they go through a goal it is a point. The two players without the ball try to WRECK their score by hitting the other player's ball with their own. If they do the player loses their points and has to start over. Play begins when the coach says go!
