Technical Reps

Organization:

  • 2v1 w/ goalie 
  • 1 big goal on each end 

Instructions:

  • Player that dribbles onto the field is the one who crosses it across to teammate to finish on opposing teams goal. In goal is 1 point, if player can score in the side netting it would be 2 points. Once one team shoots the next team can go and repeat the same actions. Make sure players alternate lines  

Coaching Points/Questions:

  • Identify where youre looking to finish 
    • What is the goalie showing me? What part of the foot to use? 
  • Shooting technique 
  • Looking at ball as its approaching 

Regressions/Progressions:

  • P : Add a defender to make it 2v2

Main Activity

Organization:

Instructions:

Looking to see if teammate can either beat the defender in 1v1 and go to goal or get an early cross teammate. In goal is 1 point, if player can score in the side netting it would be 2 points.     • Do i possess to take defender on? Do I play a leading pass for striker (to then cross)?

Conditioned Game

Organization:

  • 4v4 w/ goalie 
  • 1 big goal on defensive end 
  • 2 mini goals on the attacking end 

Instructions:

  • Ball starts with the CM who can decide to pass to LM/RM or dribble ball into play. Looking to use the LM/RM to cross the ball and find the FWD to finish on net. Defensive team is looking to regain possession of the ball and counter by lobbing the ball into small counter goals. 

Coaching Points/Questions:

  • Pace of play
  • Quick decision making 
    • Attack final 3rd to then cross? or Use an early cross to play behind defender 
  • Shooting technique 
    • Inside or laces?

Regressions/Progressions:

  • R : 4v3 
  • P : 4v5 (4v4 on the field)
