This session is built around the position on the number 6. In the USA vs Belgium game, Cameron often found himself out of position, too far into Belgiums half, when a turn-over occured this left a great deal of space open in front of th eback four for the US and also left them vulnerable to be being split, whcih happened a number of times. This session is designed to influence the play of the Number 6, working on his positioing as the US is attacking and immediatly when the ball is turned over. In essensce countering the counter attack.
Coaching Points
1) As we attack, the number 6 must position themselves to be an outlet for the building attack as well as a stop-gap for the coutner if the ball is turned over.
2) As the counter attack builds the number 6 must position themselves to cover the center backs and possibly drop in behind if needed to support either side of the central defense
