Technique
Objective: Drag back
Area: 10x10 grid with 3 yards zone.
Equipment:16 markers, 1 ball each
Time: 20 mins
Organisation:
On coach command players will dribble the ball into their grid and to the end zone as quick as possible. Players to execute Drag Back using their sole when they reach the end.
Progression:
Practice with weaker foot.
Players to dribble into the next grid to the end and execute, they must get away as quick as possible from the opponent.
Coaching Points:
AWARENESS
- Look at the danger and assess surrounding.
WHERE TO CONTROL THE BALL
- Away from the defender infront of you.
- Turn the ball away to keep possession
- Into the space behind you.
HOW TO CONTROL
- Supporting leg to move to the side of the ball with inside foot facing the direction of the ball.
- Bring the kicking leg on top of the ball by stretching out your leg..
- Drag the ball backwards and bring your leg to follow the motion of the drag to turn your body.
- After you turn, use the other leg to push the ball away and accelerate.

Objective: 1v1 duel - Decision making
Area: 20x20 with middle zone.
Equipment:4 markers, 4 cones, supply of ball
Time: 20 mins
Organisation:
Attacker will start dribbling towards the grid at speed, he will make execute drag back and try to score the goal at the back.
Defender will be activated once the attacker enter the middle zone. If defender win the ball, he will dribble the ball into the Zone and stop the ball to earn his point.

Area: Full court.
Equipment: Supply of ball
Time: 20 mins
Organisation:
Players will do a drag back and turn to keep possession whenever he does not have the option to move forward. Execution of skill comes into play at the right moment of the game. Encourage the players to keep possession of the ball.

Objective: Away from the defender

Time: 15 mins
Organisation:
Players will start dribbling in the area. When coach blow his whistle, defender will be activated. The attacker will have to get away from the defender and avoid getting his ball kicked away by the defender. If that happen, he will move into any of the box and do 5 Step ons.
Progression:
Defender will move with the ball also.
