SET UP:
Task 1
- 1v1 boxes (multiple boxes).
- Players to start with dribbling the ball tying to chase down their opponent
- Can we implement sharp turns and changes of direction to gain an advantage. If you can catch and tag your opponent- 1 point
- On coaches call can we try and pass our ball to knock opponent ball away- 2 points.
- On coaches call can we change positions through the middle shaded area, break into the space with a turn or disguised touch
- Mak it competitive and keep score
Task 2
- Touch work in groups of 4
- Can we work on our 1st touch coming towards the ball. 2 or 1 touch depedning on the service
- Spin and go receive the oppoiste ball. Feeders just as important on the outside with their first touch and service into working players.
-Players change over after 1 minute. Can you keep control of the ball for this time period.
Task 3
- Touch and dribble half turn
- Dribble for middle section and then release pass as you enter the square.
-Players change over after 1 minute. Can you keep control of the ball for this time period.
KEY POINTS:
- BODY SHAPE/POSITION/ANGLE (TO BE ABLE TO MOVE INTO SPACE/AWAY FROM PRESSURE/FORWARD WHEN RECEIVING)
- BALL CIRCULATION (HOW WILL THE SPEED OF PLAY IMPACT ON THE OPPOSITION? CAN I MOVE INTO A NEW AREA/SPACE TO HALT/CHANGE MY OPPOSITION)
- MOVEMENT OFF BALL (DO I MOVE TOWARDS OR AWAY FROM THE BALL? WHAT WILL THE IMPACT BE?)

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- 3v2 Wave.
- Team of 3 players attack and try to score in any of the 3 goals.
- Attacking team must have at least 1 player in each half at all times. Defenders are free to move to either half (COACHING OPPOSITION: CAN YOU DEFEND THE 2 GOALS NEAREST THE BALL?)
- After team has attacked, the next team will go with the same objective.
KEY POINTS:
- USE OF WIDTH AND DEPTH (IF WE USE MORE SPACE, WILL THAT MAKE IS EASIER FOR US TO RECEIVE/ATTACK? WILL THE DEFENDERS BE ABLE TO DEFEND A LARGE AMOUNT OF SPACE?)
- MOVEMENT OFF BALL (DO I MOVE TOWARDS OR AWAY FROM THE BALL? WHAT WILL THE IMPACT BE? CAN I CREATE AN OVERLOAD?)
- PASS COMMUNICATION (PASS TO HELP PLAYER MOVE INTO SPACE/AWAY FROM PRESSURE/FORWARD)
- BALL CIRCULATION (HOW WILL THE SPEED OF PLAY IMPACT ON THE OPPOSITION?)
- CAN I PASS INTO A NEW AREA/SPACE WHERE MY TEAM CAN ATTACK?
- IF AN AREA OF THE PITCH IS CROWDED, IS THERE ANOTHER PLAYER WHO IS IN SPACE WHO CAN RECEIVE AND PLAY FORWARD?
- LOCATION OF DEFENDERS (WILL WE NEED TO SWITCH PLAY IF THE DEFENDERS ARE SPREAD OUT? IF DEFENDERS ARE COMPACT, WHERE IS THE SPACE WE CAN PLAY INTO TO ATTACK?)
- USE OF SWITCH TO ATTACK OR TO SPREAD OPPOSITION HORIZONTALLY TO PENETRATE
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Must switch ball into other half before team can score/ multple goals if able to switch and score.
- Transition (defenders able to score).

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- Conditioned Game as progression from previous activity.
- 3v3 with 2 neutral players.
- 1/ When in possession, team must have at least 1 player in each half.
- 2/ If team in possession can switch the ball into other half and score = 3 goals.

- CAN WE CREATE AN OVERLOAD ON ONE SIDE OF PITCH TO BE ABLE TO SWITCH TO OTHER SIDE? (WHY? OVERLOAD TO DRAW PRESSURE FROM OPPOSITION. THIS WILL THEN CREATE ON OTHER SIDE AND EASE TO PLAY FORWARD AFTER SWITCH)
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- No. of passes on one side of pitch before switch.
- Defenders are locked on one side of pitch.

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- Conditioned Game with 5 vertical zones. 3 ways to score additional goals:
- 1/ 1 switch from half space to half space in build up to goal = 2 goals
- 2/ Assist from half space = 3 goals
- 3/ Half space to half space assist (switch) = 5 goals

- USE OF SWITCH TO ATTACK OR TO SPREAD OPPOSITION HORIZONTALLY TO PENETRATE
- CAN WE CREATE AN OVERLOAD ON ONE SIDE OF PITCH TO BE ABLE TO SWITCH TO OTHER SIDE? (WHY? OVERLOAD TO DRAW PRESSURE FROM OPPOSITION. THIS WILL THEN CREATE ON OTHER SIDE AND EASE TO PLAY FORWARD AFTER SWITCH)
- POSITIONING (CAN WE POSITION IN WAYS THAT ARE REALISTIC TO A MATCH? CAN WE CREATE PASSING OPTIONS/TRIANGLES? CAN WE HAVE RESTING DEFENDERS TO AVOID OPPOSITION ATTACKS IN TRANSITION?)
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Neutral players locked in half space.
- Switch over 2+ zones = 1 goal.
- Opposition can only defend in 3 zones.

Arrival SSG
SET UP:
- Arrival SSG to prepare for session.
- 1v1/2v2 on inside with rest of team on outside of pitch.
- To score, must play into outside player. Once ball is returned, team have 3 touches to score (this can be 1 player or 2, using passes).
- When team scores, players switch with outside players.
KEY POINTS:
- CAN I PASS OR DRIBBLE TO MOVE THE BALL FORWARD?
- IF I AM UNABLE TO MOVE FORWARD, AM I ABLE TO PASS SIDEWAYS OR BACKWARDS TO A TEAMMATE IN SPACE?
- IS THIS PLAYER ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD? IF NOT, CAN I PROVIDE AN OPTION FOR A PASS TO TRY AND GO FORWARD?
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- 1 touch finish.
- Combination with outside player to score.
- Players on outside are limited to 1/2 touch.
