Warm-Up (15 mins)

Organization:

Ghost Busters

Instructions:

• Players run around area without a ball, the ghostbuster is trying to hit the players below the knees with the proper shooting technique.

• After being struck players must get a ball from the center square they become the tagger (Ghostbuster)

• Players are only allowed to use one ball, if they hit it out of the area they must retreive it before they can shoot another ghost

Coaching Points:

1) Ankle locked toe down

2) hitting ball wiht the first knuckle of the big toe

3) Striking through the middle of the ball

Organization:

PLayers divided into 4 teams

Every player has a ball

Instructions:

Players dribble into the center square (messi touches) after entering the square, they take a touch out of their feet and hit a driven shot into their goal. Game will last for 2 minutes and the team with the most goals will win-Allow teams to come up with fun names, MLS teams, EPL teams or countries. Be creative let kids take ownership of their team's name.

Coaching Points:

1) Head down at the point of contact

2) Non-kicking foot placed to side, slightly behind the ball

3) Ankle locked, toe down

4) Contact foot – laces (instep)

5) Body weight forward, chest and knee over the ball atcontact

6) Follow through landing on striking foot

Players divided into two lines, every player has a ball

Street Soccer Tournament (15 mins)

Organization:

Players Divided in three teams

Instructions:

Becuase the focus of this session is shooting, teams will play to 2 goals or 90 seconds whichever comes first. The team that gets scored on or the team on the longest will come off the team waiting will then go on, the oncoming team will start with the ball
