Mannequin 12 yards away from the goal, 4 yards in front of the start cone. Player has to perform a skill to get past the mannequin before finishing.
Moves to perform are: stab push, scissors, matthews, matthews scissors
Progression - replace mannequin with live defender
Coaching Points:
- Explosive movement after skill. Players should explode away once they have performed the skill past the mannequin, so that in a game the defender cannot recover and block the shot on goal
- Players should dribble and perform the skill at game-speed in order to be effective in game situations against live defenders.
- Players should focus on the technique to finish past the goalkeeper and focus on placement before power.
