Primary Focus: Work with midfield 3 and forward 3 to create scoring opportunties through, around anf over the defensive mids and back lines. work on timing of runs and timing and weight of final pass.
Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
Area Size: 60 x 70 with cut off for lack of focus team fullbacks and opposition wings. Small counter goals in cut offs
Player numbers: 8 blue v 8 red including goal keeper. 9 v9 in large sided game
Timing: two 4 minute blocks with 1 minute rest in between for specific practice = ball rolling time to be 40-50% in specific practive. Large sided game 15 minutes with stoppages where needed for coaching process. ball rolling time to be 75-80% in small sided game
Interventions:
Walk through - use the this to set the stage for attacking shape with emphasis on width and depth. movement of the 6 and 8s.
Concurrent - how is our shape - are we making runs in behind? are we dropping short to entice defenders into the press?
Terminal - are we having success creating goal scoring opportunities? are the defenders allowing us to get in behind or forcing us to play infront of them?
Limit terminal feedback in large sided game and focus on concurrent coaching unless I need to step in and correct repeated break down of principle. Focus on movement to create and maintain depth and width and to take risks running in behind.

LSG 9v9
Reemphasis coaching points from specific practice, add agoalkeeper for the blue team and a 9 for the red team. Same concept in largesided game as goalkeeper will start, centre backs still looking to play a onetwo with each other before attempting to play forward.
Can one of the centre backs step into midfield to eliminatethe press/presence of the opposing teams 9? Maybe centre backs can split intothe half channels to create space centrally for the 6 to still receive the ballfrom the goalkeeper. can wingers cut inside allowing midfield 8s to drift wide? can the 9 drop in to allow an attacking midfielder to run beyond them?

UEFA B OA3 SESSION – FINAL THIRD
Description
Primary Focus: Work with midfield 3 and forward 3 to createscoring opportunities through, around and over the defensive mids and backlines. work on timing of runs and timing and weight of final pass. Quality ofthe finish, Creativity in the final third, taking risks, making pitch big, ballspeed
Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
Area Size: 60 x 70 with cut off for lack of focus teamfullbacks and opposition wings. Small counter goals in cut offs
Pitch divided into five channels, no restrictions butdefending team must defend 3 channels at a time to stay compact in defence andforce attacking team wide.
16 players in specific, 18 in LSG.
60x70/16 = 262 m2 per player = extensive
Explanation: Play begins with the two centre backs playing aone two with each other before trying to find their 6 on the half turn. Focusteam trying to find ways to attack in the final third and create goal scoringopportunities. Bonus points if attackers score from a one touch finish off across
If red team wins the ball proceed quickly to one of twocounter goals. Focus on quality and speed of movements to create space andpassing lanes.
Key Points: Create width and depth to open up opposition. Ifwe can’t play through, can we play around or over? When is the right time to doany of the 3? Be decisive in the final third, can wingers look to take onfullbacks, creating 1v1 moments.
Balls over the top if defenders’ step and leave space inbehind, creative runs to confuse the back line and find free space. Midfielderstry to play in space between back line and midfield line and open up options toplay through.
Challenges, conditions and targets
Can the two centre backs work with the 6 to create overloadsin central areas? Can the attackers be patient in the attack and change thepoint of attack if needs be? Who can we play through? The 6, either of the 8sor potentially the 9?
Block 2 – no channel restrictions for defending team, cannow begin to defend more aggressively. How can attackers deal with this ifdefenders begin to press more aggressively? Will space open up in behind for usto now exploit? Can attacking 8s play on the half turn in the half channels, inbetween midfield and defensive lines?
What if defenders stay deep and allow play to stay in frontof them? Introduce higher targets for the defending team. If the red team 8s or6 can win the ball back and score directly from winning possession, their goalis worth double.
If defenders stay deep, add condition where if the 6 can successfully make 10 passes with their two centre backs, it equals to a goal. This shouldinvite a higher and quicker press from the defending team as it will enticethem not to give up goals.
