Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): WSSL G2012G Pre-Match Routine
Description
Pre-Match Routine:
- Built for WSSL G2012G
- Aim to have the girls conducting their own dynamic warm-up by midseason
- Aim to have the girls develop the habit of arriving 40-45 minutes with socks on
KPI (Key Performance Indicator):
We won't focus on scoring. Instead, our emphasis will be on players' individual and collective development. We will use KPIs to measure our success throughout the season, both on and off the ball.
1. Playing out from the back - tracking how many times we successfully move the ball from our defensive third to the middle and attacking thirds. (Attempts- successful- unsuccessful) (on the ball)
2. Winning 1 vs 1 defensive duels or winning 50/50 balls. (Attempts- successful- unsuccessful) (off the ball)

Organization:
- 15 x 15 field of play with two balls in play
- 6 players minimum - 6 allows for high tempo, no more than 8
- Cones set up as markers
- 90 seconds of play
- Both balls are played simultaneously, with the first pass being from A to B
- Player B must lay the ball off back to "A" with a bounce pass in the direction of 3 (near corner)
- A must then play a one time ball to the opposite side, where the next player repeats process
- Quality of passes and touches - "be proud of your pass, touch"
- Body shape - hips must be facing play
- Timing of movement
Progressions:
- Two reps of each foot being used (picture displays playing with right foot, left foot follows same pattern but played in opposite direction)

- Starting RCB & RM & LCB & LM = blue
- RCB & RM / LCB & LM play long balls to one another down their flanks - emphasis on technique & communication (build chemistry!!!)
- Everyone else is red - three lines to form 3 player combination (LW, CF, RW) towards GK
- Shot must be taken from outside of box OR one time shot must come from cross

- 3 lines of 6 - players begin on right side of cone
- Each line 4 yards apart
- Once players reach first cone (6 yards away), next set goes
- Once player reaches end, they wheel around to the left and jog back
