This session is designed to help the boys find the open space. We introduce them to La Pelopina which is a great move to use to find the open space when it is crowded. We will also play a lot of variations of FUNiño to encourage switching it to the open space.

Objective: improve our speed and agility with and without the ball.
Organization: 8-10 gates that are 4 yards apart. Two groups of players.
Instructions: 2 players race. First one to get through 4 gates and return to their line wins.
Variations: (1) same with the ball, (2) one player is attacker and the other player is trying to tag them, (3) same with the ball, (4) relay race, (5) keep track of points for the team. Every gate attacker dribbles through before they are tagged is a point.
Coaching Points: (1) go full speed, (2) change directions, (3) eyes up to see the course and defender.

Objective: work on la pelopina ball control
Organization: starting gate, players each with a ball, pole approximately 8 yards away.
Instructions: players dribble to the pole at speed and execute outside of the foot la pelopina around the pole and return to the back of the line. Groups of no more than 3 players.
Variations: (1) outside of the foot left and right, (2) inside of the foot left and right, (3) 360 turn and dribble full speed through gate at the other end.
Coaching Points: (1) go at speed, (2) soft quick touches, (3) head up, (4) proper technique for executing move.

Objective: improve game intelligence.
Organization: grid is approximately 30 long x 24 wide with 6 yard scoring zones.
Instructions: players play 3v3 and can score in either goal in the direction they are attacking. If there are subs they should enter on every goal scored.
Variations: (1) start 3v1 if defender wins it she can score from anywhere, (2) 3v2 but one defender has to be in the scoring zone. If defenders win it they can score from anywhere, (3) 3v3 but one defender has to be in the scoring zone.
Coaching Points: (1) head up see the field, (2) overload with overlaps or 2v1 situation, (3) create triangle shape, (4) attacker 1, 2, 3, (5) find the open space, (6) don't force it. .

Instructions: as players arrive put them into teams and have them play 1v1, 2v2, 3v3.
Coaching Points: limited, allow players to just play, coaches should manage the game so play is continuous.
