1. On the Ball 

  • Can you run with the ball?
  • Can you keep your head up when running with the ball?
  • Can you hide the ball?
  • Can you keep the ball?
  • Can you use both feet when running with the ball?

 2. Movement 

  • No Standing Zone!

Dinosaur Tag (15 mins)

Set Up: 

  • Divide the players into pairs with 1 ball each. One player is a Dinosaur and 1 player is a Ranger.
  • Field size 20 (L) x 20 (W).
  • 4 triangles of markers.
  • If 10 players make 5 triangles etc.

Action: 

  • Dinosaur and Park Ranger are to dribble around triangle while the Dinosaur tries to tag Park Ranger.
  • Dinosaur can change direction at any time.
  • Don't leave ball behind or dribble inside triangle.
  • Players to switch roles once tagged..
Variation/Progressions
  • The time of sets or size of the area can be adjusted to suit the needs and abilities of the players.
  • Add speed with repetition.

Player Tips: 

  • As Above.

Coaching Points:

  • Correct running/dribbling with the ball technique.
  • Small touches.
  • Change direction.
  • Use both feet.

Session Timing:

  • Complete 3 sets of 3 minutes with a 1 minute rest in between sets.
