Intervals:
2 min work + 1 min rest x 6 games = 18 min
Setup:
3 teams
25x20 grid with 5x5 center grid
Activity:
Teams score by passing through central grid.
Coaching Points:
~ Defending as a unit
~ 3 seconds of fury when losing ball
~ if the attack gets organized, defense should get organized and deny central penetration
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Setup:
Same as previous but adding a 3rd defender and a 4th attacker.
Activity:
GK organizes backs to press ball side back to wide channel and compact weak side back to track in dangerous space in front of goal. Attacking team can send 1 player into wide channel in combination. Defending team scores by playing ball to high, wide targets.
Coaching Points:
Pressure / cover on initial combination play into channel then immediate recovery. Near post runner is most dangerous, central runner is next, far post runner next, etc. Defenders must identify and track most dangerous runs. Goalkeeper must be aware of targets to anticipate where cross is likely to be played.
