-Purpose - To Recover From The Previous Game / Start To Implement Small Segments Of Upcoming Game

-Opposition Not Defending Switch Of Play / Focus To Find The Overload Inside Or Outside

Recovery Session - Following Players - MD+1

-GK, FB, CB, CB, CM, CM, CM, W, CF.


ILP Plans - Session/Position Focus:

-GK - Shot Stopping/Commanding Back Line

-CB - (w/ball) Breaking Lines/Detail Of Pass/Leading Team Mate Forward (w/out ball) Moments To Step In & Win The Ball.

-FB - Ability To Defend 1v1 In Wide Areas

-CM - (w/ball) - Break Lines / Support High Player In Transition Moment (w/out ball) Block Passing Lanes.

-W - Attacking 1v1 / Isolating Or Combine

-CF - Pin Back Line - Back To Goal / Finishing 1 Touch In Box.


Instructions:

  • Warm up begins with fitness coach. Runs through a series of activities.
  • 1- Dynamic movement based warm up
  • 2- Incorporate lateral movements, backward movements, diagonal movements to prepare for 3.  
  • 3- Tactical Physical stimulus - player jumps over hurdle. to the side of the cone, stops and maintains body shape similar to closing down an opponent and on coaches whistle releases around the mannequin to finish movement. Repeat 4 times per player, left and right side x 2. 
  • 4- 6v3 rondo with the GK Included. 1 touch, defenders defend for 30 seconds. Rotate through in groups of three. 

-Dynamic Movements (1) - 5 Mins

-Specific Tactical Movements (2) - 2 Mins

-6v3 Rondo - 5 Mins (3) (6 30 Sec Rounds).

Coaching Points:

  • Mechanical movements / Move the body
  • Mirror defensive side on pose in (3) make contact with the mannequin, side on, quick to get there, quick release on whistle
  • Mirror defensive behaviors in the rondo, tackle when needed , intercept when needed but be on the front foot.

Explanation:

  • Blue Team Defending With - GK , CB, RB, CM.
  • Grey Team Attacking With - CB, CM, CM, LW, CF
  • Tactical Preparation - Upcoming Opponent Weakness Is Defending Switch Of Play.
  • How Can We Find The Spare Man Central / Or Isolate 1v1 With Winger Wide


Instructions:

  • Coach Plays CB, CB Plays CM and Game Situation Is Live. 4v3 To Goal.
  • Blue Defends Above The Red Line, and When They Win The Ball Play Quickly Into The Mini Goal For 1pt.
  • Grey Looks To Break The Red Line (Offside Line) & Go To Goal.
  • Rounds 1 & 2 - Unopposed Once Break The Line
  • Rounds 3 & 4 - Opposed With 1 Defender Dropping To Defend.
  • Potentially Add One Transitional Ball For Blue For Grey Counter Press - 6 Seconds.

Coaching Points:

  • When The Switch Happens Be Quick To Notice The Structure Of Blue. Process The Overload Quickly.
  • Body Shape Open To See The Ball (CM) Upon Receiving & Look For Highest Target Possible.
  • Supporting Players To Transition To Surround The Receiver With Options Or Look To Get Behind The Last Line.
  • When The Line Is Broken - Quality In The Box/Be clinical.

Progressions/Regressions:

  • Progress To Flip The Activity To Work The Right Side Of The Field.

-4x2 Minutes (2 Mins To Left Side of Field / 2 Mins To Right Side) - 2 Minutes Between.
