The ball is then played in from the defender the other side of the game. From B position.
They play the ball into the right sided player of the 3 and then the attack begins as a 3v2 overload.
5 seconds to score in the 3v2 overload. Lots of different types of finishes can take place.
This allows to coach to coach concurrent, walk throughs and terminal coaching.
The same rules apply for the second wave of attack, if the defenders win the ball back they have 3 seconds to hit the mini goals to replicate a counter attack.
How:
Throughout both attacks the reds will be coached as attacking players and the blues will be managed.
Realism and playing at match pace will be encouraged by the coach.
Conditions, Challenges and Targets:
Red team must work with games realism to score within 3-5 seconds. They must look to find space, creating openings for a shot and use the extra player to create an overload.

SSG:
Finishing in the final third
Organisation and Area Size:
Half a pitch with 2 goals, tapered pitch with flat cones.
Pitch is tapered to allow the attacking red side to focus on playing forward.
Red are the team the coach is focus on working with.
7V7 + Gk's
Reds play GK 2,3,1,1
Blues play Gk 3,2,1,1
This is a normal game playing out from the back from the GK. Any player can score.
Conditions, Challenges and Targets:
Red players are encouraged to play round or through the opposition. The reds have the width and are encouraged to use that.
The blues formation has more players defending and thus creates more of a challenge for the reds to break down.
The shaded area is the where the blues will be asked to hold a high line for as long as they can when being attacked. The blues will be tasked with keeping the pitch narrow holding the mid block and forcing the reds out wide. OFFSIDE RULE applies.
The reds will have 5-8 seconds to get their shot away once they are in the final third.
Can the reds get 3 players in the box and have a midfield player following in on the edge of the box?
Blues when possession are asked to play direct, either through or over when they have the ball.
Reds are encouraged to get the ball out wide as quickly as they can and get the ball into the box at every opportunity. To do this they need to give width as soon as they are in possession to stretch the game.
Scenarios / Problems:
How do the reds force the blues defence out of position?
How do the reds vary the balls into the box and how do they communicate the variation.
How important is ball speed.
Can the blues play the offside trap and try and hold the line to condense the game?
As a progression - Could a floating player be introduced to support the team in possession and creates an overload.

General Practice
The Welsh Way:
Understand when and how to combine, create and finish in the attacking third of the pitch.
Organisation and Area:
Two flat cones either side of the penalty area where the defensive players will line up
3 flat cones 10 yards outside the penalty area for attacking players.
Two mini goals placed 20 yards beyond the penalty box
Explanation:
Finish 1 - Defender from point A play the ball to the edge of the penalty for the attacking player is starting centrally to strike the ball at goal either first time or taking a touch. The defender will then following their pass to defend against the striker.
The attacker in the 1v1 situation has 3 seconds to score once they have received the ball.
The defenders in blue if they win the ball back and score in either of the mini goals. The focus on this allows defenders to not only focus on defending but can they start a counter attack.
Both defenders and attackers need to keep a track of how many goals they score.
