Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): National D license :Improve your team’s ability to build up using wide players
Description
This session will create a game like environment for players to learn and understand the concepts of building an attack. Along with technical understanding, players must make game like decisions in order to switch the point of attack, break lines, and create scoring opportunities.

Directional Possession, small sided activity (20 mins)

Terminology
"change it" or "Switch it"
"release out of pressure"
- two teams in the middle 4v4 plus gk
- team looks to keep possession and and score = 1 point
- if possession is lost, you must restart

COACHING POINTS:
1) Once the ball is switched, create angles of support to receive the ball
2) Find passing lanes that are able to "break lines" or take defenders out of the play
3) If possession is lost, try and win the ball back under 5 seconds.

Conditioned game5v5+4 (20 mins)
5 vs 5 plus GK with 4 neutrals on the outside
35 yds x 20 yds
-90 second games, 45 sec rest between games (rotate teams accordingly)
-Losing team with forfeit (quick sprint, star jumps, push ups, etc)
-Tie = both teams lose
Coaching Points:
1) Once ball is one, can we expand and find our receiving lines
2) If the vertical ball is one, can we break defensive lines with one pass
3) Width and depth can be created with neutral players

Who?: 9v9 game (both teams playing a 1-3-2-3)
Size?: 50 yds wide X 80 yds long
Play 2X12 min games, with 3 minute rest

1 - Ball begins at starting line and is played to the right
2 - Player checks off pole and receives ball on the back foot
3 - Player checks off pole and receives ball from (2) diagnally through the square
4 - Receives ball from (3) and repeats drill going opposite way
** Everyone follows their pass
** 2 balls going at once
Coaching Points:
1) Play back foot in order to help teammate open their hips to the play
2) Quick back peddle away from pole will help emulate creating space off defender
3) Communicate (eye contact, show where you want it, call for ball)
