Drills/Activities
Activity 1 - Passing & Receiving:
Setup: Cones/Areas spread around the playing area.
The aim is to pass to another player and run to a spare cone/area before receiving the next pass. Challenge the players to see if they can make 10 successful passes. To progress this activity add a time limit, a set number of passes to complete or increase the distance between players/cones.
Activity 2 - Breakout (Dribbling):
Setup: Player area in the centre of the drill area with 2 goals at each end of the playing area. Split the group into 2 teams and number the players (i.e 3 players per team, number players 1-3).
The aim of the game is when the coach calls your number you have to break out of the central playing area and dribble towards the mini goals and score before your opponent. If you score first then you are awarded 1 point. First team to 10 points wins.
To progress, if you score with your weak foot you are awarded 2 points.
Activity 3 - Passing & Receiving:
Setup: 4 cones spread out in the playing area with a smaller box size area in the centre of the playing area with 4 people standing by a cone and the rest of the players occupying the central area.
The players on the cones (yellow) have a ball each and the players in the central area (blue)
