8 v 8 Game (20 mins)

Set Up: 40X44 Area

Organization:

- 6v6+4

- As seen in diagram

Instructions:

Play 6v6 with 4 neutral players in the end-zone. The red and yellow team will try and maintain possession. 10 passes = 1 point. The four players in the end-zone are neutral to start and used as extra support by the team in possession

Progression:

1. The players in the end-zone are now playing for their respected team. The end-zone will have a striker and defender as initially set up. The teams earn a point if they pass to the  striker in the end-zone who can turn and pass into one of the two small goals or combine with a midfielder who can pass into the small net.

2. Work on the striker dropping into the midfield to create an overload. Defender must remain in the end-zone until the striker receives the ball.

3. The defender can follow the striker into the midfield which will create space for a third man run behind from a midfielder. Rotational movement

Coaching Points:

1.Decision making - when to dribble / pass; vision to see scoring option

2.Movement off the ball - dragging players and rotating positions
3.Triangulation - supporting player on the ball
4.Type of pass - to feet or into space
