These practices can be used for several outcomes - the focus for this session is to get the team working together and communicating, whilst still working on individual control and skill

EQUIPMENT:
Balls
SETUP:
Use a fixed area, like a penalty area, or mark one out using cones.
SESSION:
Put players in pairs, if you have odd numbers put one set of players as a three.
give each player a ball. Let the players choose which one is the chaser.
The first player dribbles with the ball, the second player is the chaser and must follow the first player dribbling his ball.
They must work as a team and try and stay as close as possible. If the first player gets too far away the second player must talk to him / her and tell them to slow down. If the chaser is too close he must tell the first to try and speed up - working constantly as a team.
After 5 mins swap the players round so they both get to be the chaser.
COACHING POINTS:
Keep the ball close at all times
Try skills and tricks
Keep head up, looking for space and moving into it
Know where the chaser is at all times
Communication, talk to each other
PROGRESSION:
1. Instead of working as a team, they play tig, and the chaser (while keeping the ball at his feet and under control) tries to tig the front player.
2. Players must use their weak foot
3. Increase the number of chasers

EQUIPMENT:
Flat markers
2 balls
SETUP:Create a circle with flat markers, between 7 and 10 yards indiameter. Players choose a marker and stay static on the marker. Two balls (or as many or as few as you like - the more you use the more aware the players need to be) are used.
SESSION:
Players make passes across the circle to another player and then keep the passes going for as long as possible, while the defenders in the middle try to intercept and screen. Try and encourage minimal touches from the outside players and speedy passes, this will create pressure as they must try not to hit another ball and theymust try not to pass to a player who already has a ball.
The players on the inside try to work as a team and screen and intercept the ball. If they get thb all they swap positions with the player on the outside that they got the ball off.
COACHING POINTS:
Technical - control, passing
Social - communication, team work
Physical - passing
Psychological - decision making, team work

EQUIPMENT:
Cones
SETUP:
Create a small circle of 5 cones, evenly spaced
SESSION:
The runner must run around the outside of the circle of cones, trying to reach the empty cone. The players on the cones must work as a team and move together, trying to fill the empty cone before the runner gets to it. The runner can change direction as quickly and as many times as he likes, so the players on the cones need to ready and react quickly as a team
1 min per player. - keep swapping the runner until everyone has has a go.
COACHING POINTS:
Players on cones must move in unison to prevent the runner geeting to the open cone
Watch your team mates and react to their movements - enjoy working as a team
The runner needs to run fast and change direction quicky
The runner should scan for opportunities and accelerate quickly
PROGRESSION:
Make circle bigger and use more players, leave more cones free
Players on the cone have a ball and must take it with them to the free cone
Give ALL players a ball
