This passing pattern warm up teaches players to use quality passes, a good body shape and angles of support to link up play.
Why?
To get players switched on mentally. Helps them work on passing and receiving techniques.
When?
When they have stretched fully go straight into this. Can be used as a arrival activity.
Where?
Any where on the pitch.
How?
As a group. Get players to communicate with each calling a name of who you are passing too.

Set Up:
Players set up like above.
Red (1) passes straight to Red (2) and follows pass, Red (2) passes to the middle player Red (5) and follows pass, Red (5) who passes ball to Red (3) and follows pass, Red (3) passes straight to Red (4) and follows pass, Red (4) will then pass to Red (2) who now should be in the middle and follows his pass to replace Red (2) in the middle, Red (5) should now pass to Red (6) to complete sequence.
All players simply move to where they have passed the ball. Follow your pass!!
Progression : 1 - Change passing direction.
2- One touch to make it quicker.

Set Up:
Players set up like above.
This time it is simply follow your pass. Red (1) plays into Red (2), Red (2) plays ball out to Red (3), Red (3) then plays ball into the middle where Red (1) should be, Red (1) then plays out to Red (4) who plays into the middle where Red(3) should now be, Red (3) plays ball out to Red (6). Then sequence continues.
All players simply move to where they have passed the ball. Follow your pass!!

Set Up:
Players set up like image above.
Red (1) with the ball will pass straight to Red (2) who will set or bounce ball back to (1) who then play a diagonal pass to Red (3) who will set or bounce pass for Red (2) who will play a diagonal pass to Red (4) who will set or bounce ball for Red (3) who will pass into Red (5). Then repeat sequence. Players simply move around the square anti-clockwise at first to the next cone.
Progression: 1 - Change direction of the ball. so using different foot to control and pass.
