Defending Team (Red) - Management: 1-4-3-3 (3 goals at the top represents your 3 FWs)
Problem you want them to present: Force central, and do your best to stay as high as possible (Above the D/Red line).
Attacking Team (Blue) - Coach: 1-3-2-3-2 (Eliminate our 3 defenders)
Solutions/Coaching points: Look to create overloads by getting as many guys as we can in the ball -side wide area.
How?
FAW GAME MODEL: In Possession
- Have confidence to want the ball (Our wide guys/WBs):
***When we get the ball to our wide guys (WB), be patient/have confident to let their press develop. We want to get as many supporting guys as we can on that side of the field (Our ball-side 9, 6, & 10)
-Move the ball quickly - find the spare player:
*** Move the ball quickly on that side of the field with the purpose of moving their team to that side of the field. We will most likely have a spare player in the middle (Weak - side 6 or 10). When passing to them, weight your pass in with speed.
Examples/What If(s): If we have umbers up and space in behind, get to goal... If not.....

Defending Team (Red) - Management: 1-4-3-3 (3 goals at the top represents your 3 FWs)
Problem you want them to present: Force out wide, and do your best to stay as deep as possible (Below the D/Red line).
Attacking Team (Blue) - Coach: 1-3-2-3-2 (Eliminate our 3 defenders)
Solutions/Coaching points: Look to draw Individual player into wide areas by creating overloads in wide areas.
How?
FAW GAME MODEL: In Possession
- Have confidence to want the ball (Our wide guys/WBs):
Movements to create overloads:
***When we get the ball to our wide guys (WB), Look to draw players out of positions and into the wide areas (Forces their closest defenders to step out of position).
***As the ball carrier is drawing defenders out, we want our ball-side 6, or 10 making overlapping, or under lapping runs in behind.
-Move the ball quickly - find the spare player:
Movements to create overloads:
*** Wide guys/WBs, dribble the ball as quickly as you can into the space you have (Remember, your goal is to isolate one of their players into a 2v1).
***Examples/What If(s): If our wide guy is looking to isolate/draw their ball-side full back, we would want an under lapping or over lapping run from our 10.
***Examples/What If(s): If our wide guy is looking to isolate/draw their ball-side 8, we would want an under lapping or over lapping run from our 6.
- Clear decision making to play through, around, and over:
***Be purposeful with where you're passing/dribbling the ball.
***Examples/What If(s): If you're successful in drawing their defender, utilize the over/under lapping run. If they don't step cross or take the shot.
