Server delivers in a high ball off the floor from nearer the touchline, so further out in a free kick or corner kick territory for the goalkeeper to claim. Impeded by two mannequins in the area
Three repetitions per set, serving from each of the blue cones. Drill to be repeated on the other side
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
Crossing can be in favor of the goalkeeper and will be delivered in various areas for less predictable service. Could go front post, back post, penalty spot or could be wide of the keeper
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
Can the goalkeeper deal with each high ball on merit. Depending on what area the ball is coming in and at what sort of height, pace or direction the ball is travelling. Can the goalkeeper collect the cross at the highest point or make the decisions on whether to come and claim the cross or stay set if the ball is too wide for the goalkeeper to claim
Windy conditions could affect high balls being floated into the box. Can the goalkeeper be patient in judging the flight of the ball
