Various Finishing techniques from the outside of the penalty area. Players should aim across goal to far corners with precision over power.
Players should also be encouraged to play with both feet and various foot surfaces, inside, outside and laces.
There are numerous progressions for this very basic shooting drill which will be expanded on in this series.

Technical - Passing and receiving playing one touch. Create half a yard and the opportunity to shoot. Player should be encouraged to use a skill move (step-over, feint for example) in order to put the defender off balance and give them the chance to get the shot off.
Physical - Running, turning, quick changes of direction and position to strike the ball.
Psychological - Confident decision making and spatial awareness of position on field relative to the goal.
Team Work - Communication
Note: Defender is able to tackle and should get to the starting position behind the line of flat markers positioned half way between the penalty spot and the edge of the area (or make age specific).
