Building Out of the Back with a transition to through ball to a shot.
A passes to B then makes a 1-2 run through the blue gate. A then passes to C who makes a 1-2 with a curling B player. B plays D. D opens hips after checking away from defender and passes to E. E simulates a through ball run and has a go at goal.
Coaching Points: Proper passing technique/ toe up heel down keeps ball on the ground. Make a check mark with the foot and follow through with a crisp pass. Receive the ball across the body and get a touch to keep the ball in possession.

Cross Passing Pattern: Variation 1. A to B to C back to A. Mirror activity on the other side and follow your pass.
Variation 2. A to B to A to C back to A. The last pass to A will be received by the next player in line. Variation 3. A to B to C (side 1) then pass over to side 2. A to B to C (side 2) back over to side 1. Variation 4. Remove one of the middle players. S1A passes to the middle B. Middle B receives the ball across their body to make a turn and find S2A. S2A then finds S2C. S2C finds the middle B who then finds the S1C. S1C finds S1A and the rotation starts over. You can have multiple players at each station to cut down on line length. There are many more variations of this. Be creative.
Coaching points include passing technique, plant foot, hips and striking the ball in the middle. Stress the importance of passing the ball with a bend in the knees and not straight legs.

Relay race that involves all players. If an odd number, one line member must go twice. Players must go through the three zones. At each station coach gives a number of touches the player must have before moving on. The soccer balls STAY at each station. Once the player is finished with zone 3 they will sprint back and tag their teammate.
Coaching Points: Make sure you are getting good touches on the ball. Technique first. Team esprit de corps, everyone should be rooting for their teammates.
