THE SESSION: Head Tennis.

Integrated Warm-Up (20 mins)

THE SESSION:

  • Every 2 players with 1 ball at a distance of 30 m from each others.
  • 2 Small goals and the player with the ball must try to score a goal. There is a flat cone where players should stand in front of their goals
  • The defender must defend his goal either by heading the ball away or controlling the ball
  • The defender must now try to score 
  • Competition among the players. Each goal scored is 1 pt. 

PROGRESSIONS:

  • 1 ball for each group of 4 players. They now combine among themselves and must do long diagonal passes

Individual/Technical Work (20 mins)

THE SESSION:

  • 4 different substations.
  • Station 1: Player RWTB through the mannequin and passes to the other player who controls and do the circuit.
  • Station 2: Player starts, jumps through the hurdles, do some SAQ on the ladder, run through the poles and jogs back.
  • Station 3: Players RWTB through the poles and stops the ball for the other player to do the circuit.
  • Station 4: Player starts and jumps on one leg alternately, then runs through the large cones and jogs back.
  • 1min work out, 30s rest. Players do the circuit twice.

Slice of the Game (20 mins)

THE SESSION:

  • 2 Teams of 5v5 plus 4 floaters and 1 Gk each side.
  • The pitch is divided into 3 zones. 2 End zones and a middle zone. There is no play in the middle zone.
  • In the end zone it is a 3v2 plus 2 floaters who play with both teams.
  • The coach gives the ball to the blue team. They must combine and pass the ball to the floaters who must make the switch by a long ball to the other side to the 2 blue attackers. The 2 blue attackers must use the floaters to try and score.
  • The 3 red defenders must defend the long ball. If they can come out with the ball in the shaded region they start the play. If they heads it to the shaded region, Blue starts again at the back. 

PROGRESSIONS:

  • Minimum 3 pass before switching the ball to the other side
  • 8 seconds to switch the ball to the other side

Game (20 mins)

The Session:

  • Split into 2 even teams and/or a neutral if necessary.
  • Emphasis on bringing out the topic during the game.
  • If a goal is scored when possession is win in the opponent's half, it counts for double.
