40 yds x 30 yds
1 ball per player
Spread out 8 cones for players to use as defenders when dribbling.
-Every player gets a ball and starts dribbling within the marked area.
-The cones are to be treated as defenders to perform skill past
- Every 1 minute 30 seconds coach will instruct players to perform a skill move
1) Step over
2) Petrov drag back
3) Ronaldo chop
4) Zidane turn
5) McGeady turn
6) Players show any skill they choose
Coaching Points
- Soft touches/ close control
- Each skill different coaching points
-Coach demonstrate each technique
-Head up, scan for space
-Soft touches in tight spaces
- Firmer touch into space
- Burst of pace after skill
-Weight balanced right over the ball.
Progression-
-Add active defenders
Adaptions- Choose easier skill moves if too hard

2 v 1 Game related practice
18 yds x 6 yds/ 1 half blue bibs 1 half red bibs
2 attackers, 1 defender
If not enough goals use cones
Must successfully dribble past defender to score
Defender passes ball to attackers
Defender stays in own half unless wins the ball
If defender wins ball he/ she can start attacking
After each attempt switch defender/ attackers
One attacker goes off after each attack until next time to attack, so as always having two attackers against one defender
If manage to successfully dribble using 1 of the skills learned past defender and score award 2 points (goals)
Coaching Points
Attackers-
-Positive first touch
-Close control, soft touches.
-Balance over the ball.
-Keep body in between defender and ball
- Encourage to perform skill learned in technical
- Pace after skill
Defenders- Close down the space to your opponent quickly
-Keep goal side
- Don't dive in
- Approach side on
PROGRESSIONS-
- Must beat your opponent by performing at least one of the skills learned in the technical
- Limit passes between attackers
- Make it a 2v2

Add 2 defenders to encourage scanning and keeping hold of the ball
If defender win ball they become dribblers.
