Blocks: x2 10 min
Set up:
x1 40x40m square (left square as seen on image)
x4 "dribbling lanes (right square as seen on image)
give each player a ball (first block)
one ball between partners) (second block)
Block 1 (left square) - 10 mins
allow each player to get a ball and start to dribble around the square, coach will stop every 2 mins to show different ball mastery skill and then let players attempt skill whilst dribbling round the square.
Coaching points:
- Keep temp high
- positive touch and run with the ball at pace after doing skill to get away from defender
- try to teach the mechanics of each skill
Block 2 (right square) - 10 mins
play will start from player A (blue) passing into player B (red) player B will then try to dribble past player A and past the end line, if player A wins possession he must try to dribble over player B's end line.
if ball leaves the area play must restart from the first pass.
coaching points Defending 1v1:
- close space down quickly
- slow down on approach
- body position low and side on
coaching points Attacking 1v1:
- change speed/feet/direction to beat defender
- teach differnce between dribbling/running with the ball and where each one is effective

Blocks: x3 6 min - use flyby and drive by coaching during blocks when needed.
Set up:
- bring goals to edge of box
- mark line from one corner of box to opponents' corner of box on each side to create a wide player channel
- 3v3 with a wide player in each channel who is neutral
Play will start from coach playing into a player in the middle, to score players must pass to a wide player and score from a wide players pass/cross using a first-time finish.
wide players can use the whole channel and are unopposed as middle players cannot enter the channel
Coaching points:
- deliver ball into dangerous areas (wide payer)
- transition quickly after gaining possession
- positive touch forward
- over/underlapping runs

4v4 scrimmage
bring goals to edge of box
normal 7v7 game rules apply.
last 5 mins take players over to parents and discuss what happened in the session (i Give a trainer of the night out each week so up to you if we want to do that for whites)

Play will start from assistant coach playing into either team (try to give it to the team asking for the ball more) normal 7v7 Game rules apply with a condition that every player must be in the opponent's half to score.
coaching points:
- Always look to play forward if possible
- create passing lanes
- over/under lapping runs
once first block is done send players for a water break and discuss expectations/ house keeping (where to place bags ect for training days) for the season.
