Set Up: As per diagram above, ensure the space is large enough to start to ensure success of the players to establish the importance of Depth and Width.

Set Up: 5v5 +2 Position Game
Instructions: Can the team in possession identify when to retain possession via outside and find it's moment to play inside. 10 Passes is 1 Points. If the defending team wins the ball they must play to neutral player in the middle and then transition outside while the other team transitions and comes inside to defend.

Func Passing Tech Warmup (10 mins)
Set Up: Diamond shape cones in the middle middle set up about 5 yrds apart. 4 lines with two players at each line at 10 yrd distance. 26 Players, 1 Group of 12 and 1 Group of 14 players.
Instructions: Player in Line A starts with the ball at the tip of the diamond, Player in line B runs out to receive a pass on back foot and plays pass with opposite foot. In diagram that would be receive with right play pass with left. As B has received player in line C makes his/her run into the middle to continue the sequence. Repeat this about 5 times then rotate direction.
Progression 1: Have the player arrive to the cone and take 2 steps back to receive pass, timing of run, must leave earlier then in the previous circut. Ensure you do both directions.
Progression 2: One touch pass with back foot, speed up the exercise, we're asking the player to open up their bodies, the rotate with left foot.
Progression 3: Juggling ball in the air, have the players only use 2 touches, receive with your right, play pass with left, then rotate

Key Points: Accuracy and weight of pass, head up to play accurate pass, receiving with back foot and playing pass with oppposite foot, timing or runs, angle of support, distance of support.
