Organisation:
15x20 grid. Lines of players in opposite corners, small goal at each end.
Explanation:
Pattern starts with a ball from defensive team to attacking. Play is a unrestricted 1v1 where we encourage the defender to press out and apply pressure to the ball carrier before they can shoot on goal.
Progression:
2v2 with same pattern.
Coaching Points:
When you are the closest player to ball, can you apply pressure to the ball carrier to prevent forward progression?
When you are the second closest defender, can you be in a covering position to block passing lanes and cover if the presser is beaten?

Organisation:
25m x 18 width. 3v3+2 as displayed.
Explanation:
Ball starts from either goalkeeper. Red attacking byline, blue the opposite.
If ball is passed to outside bouncer, a cross must be delivered. One of the defending team can push out and press the wide player. They cant move out until the ball is in the wide zone.
If you score from central its one point, if you score from a cross/cutback its two points.
Coaching Points:
Can we maintain a compact shape when ball is central?
As ball is delivered wide, can our closest defender press out to apply pressure?
When our wide defender pushes out to press, can we adjust our shape to provide cover and balance?
