Week 6 Passing and Receiving:
This Pre K & Kindergarten development we will introduce the push pass passing technique. Emphasize using the inside part of the foot using a "V" shape to follow through after passing the ball. It your duty as a coach to adapt & evolve the session to the ability level of your players.
If you have to regress the warm up/condition game feel free to adjust it to what is needed for the kids to have FUN! There are multiple games in each session for you to get the players engaged. Each game is designed on a player's motor skill development, dribbling with multiple surfaces, balance and coordination. Make sure you use your imagination and coaching personality to lead the player during the session.
each Week introduce a new skill move to your age group:
Pre K :
-toe taps
-top taps going forwards and backwards
-pendulums (side to side touches with inside)
-inside/outside touches
-inside cut/outside cut
Kindergarten
-inside/outside touches
-inside cut/outside cut
-pendulums going forward/backwards (side to side touches with inside)
-outside inside touches using both feet going forward
-pull back
Introduce MVP point system in the beginning of practice.
-all players start with 5 MVP points at the beginning of practice
-a player will receive 1 MVP point if they are being a good listener, trying their hardest, and demonstrating improvement in desired skill moves
-a player will lose 1 MVP point if they are not listening to coach, distracting the group, and not participating in the session.
-give the MVP award at the end of practice to the player with the most MVP points at the end of practice
-emphasize what it means to be reward the MVP of the practice session to inspire players to try their hardest

Game 3: Mickey Mouse Pirate Ship Cannonball Run
Mickey Mouse (coach) is the captain of his ship. All of his friends have found golden treasure (ball) and must dribble across the pirate ship to put their treasure in the treasure chests. The pirate crew oare trying to steal the treasure by blasting away the players with their cannons balls.
1. Players will be lined up in the stern of the ship shoulder to shoulder with their golden treasure (start without ball then with ball to dribble across)
2. When coach says "FIRE!" each player must get to the other side of the ship and shoot their soccer ball behind the red cones into a treasure chest
3. The pirate crew must attempt to steal their treasure by aiming their soccer ball to strike a player (tell them they must aim at their legs)
4. the last player that does not hit by a cannonball will win the game
5. once all players shoot coach will say "RELOAD!" all players must re-collect their cannonballs
6. after a couple of rounds have the pirate crews that are shooting get together to come up with a plan to steal of treasure from the players
7. rotate the players firing vs the players dribbling (if a player gets hit they must 5 toe taps/pendulums then try to dribble again
Coaching Points
-head up to observe cannon balls and field space
- head up when dribbling to find open space away from teammates
-close ball control when dribbling across (messi/ carli lloyd touches)
Inside Push Pass technique
1. head up to observe target
2. planting foot next ball aiming at target
3. Lock ankle
4. following through using inside part of the foot using a "V" shape
-time pass to strike a crew member
-approach to pass ball (3-4 steps behind the ball to gain momentum)
-speed of play (gamespeed)

Rule of the Game Week 6: reinforce the rules of the games
let the players do their own kick off, throw ins, goal kicks & corner kicks. Step in if they are not able to organize amongst themselves.
Principle of Play Week 6: Penetration by pass
spread out in order to give teammate a passing option. Can you call your teammate's name before passing them the ball?

Game 1: Pirate Ship Cannonballs

Game 1: Cannonball Passing
As players arrive ask them what "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" character they want to be. The theme is going be to Mickey Mouse Pirate adventures. The pirates (players) are learning how to sail in the MM(mickey mouse) ship in the Atlantic sea. Pirate Captain Mickey Mouse (coach) is going to show them how to pass and move around the ball to the different parts of the shop in order to set sail to their next adventure. Demonstrate how to pass the ball using the inside of the foot.
1. pair up each player with 1 soccer ball (cannonball) and give each pair a designated number 1-4
2. tell players they must explore the ship by passing and moving anywhere inside the ship by taking 2 touches (1 to control and 1 to pass)
3. After each team makes 10 passes coach will shout a part of their ship that they must shoot inside of such as "BOW"! (see animation)
4. first team to score in the designated part of the ship each player will receive 1 MVP point
Game 2: Pirates Thieves
pairs will work as a team to try to steal the golden treasure from their fellow pirates and put it away in the treasure chests (pug goals)
1. players must pass and move the ball (gold treasure) around the ship
2. coach will then call a color plus a number such as "White 1!" then this team (pair) become the thieves who will leave their soccer ball and will attempt to steal golden treasure (ball) for themselves inside a treasure chest (pug goal)
3. their mission will be to steal the cannonballs from any other team and put inside the any cannon (pug goal)
4. the first team that makes 5 passes without losing their ball will shout "HUSKIES! and each player receive 1 MVP point
5. the pair that collected won the most soccer balls and put it in the pug goals at the end of multiple rounds will also receive 1 MVP point.
