Organization:
-make two pitches next to each other with goals at either end and cones at both sides of every goal
-mini goals, cones, bibs, balls
-two games of 3v3
Instructions:
-Play 3v3 games
-Player that scores has to get the ball out of the net before they then put the ball back in a pile at the halfway line. It also encourages the attacking team to get the ball as quickly as possible and take advantage of the transition.
Progression - players from the teams with 3 players can switch games, this can create 3v3 & 2v2 games or it can switch the overloads if a player from each team switch. Ask the players to use this to help their 'other' team mates if they are in trouble.
Progression - any player from any team can switch games. Can they support each other in both games. Can they create overloads.
COACHING POINTS:
-try and take advantage of the overload, attack space and create space
-look for strong, accurate passing
-2 player teams, can they delay the 3 player teams - can a players from the other game assist them
-communication - if they're in trouble can they ask for help from the other team
-head up and try and watch both games
-after scoring - how quick can the team transition and get into a defensive shape
- After having a goal scored against them, how quickly can they attack
