Set up: Make a rectangle that is divided into thirds. adjust the size depending on ability and #'s.

Game play: the outer teams, in this case the yellow team, passes the ball around until they can play the ball through the middle zone to the team on the other side. If they are able to split defenders succesfully the pass is worth two points against the defending team. If the pass go's down the outside and does not split defnders it is only one point against the defending team. The defending team can only intercept in their zone, no tackling outside their zone. If the defending team intercepts then they switch out with the team they won the ball from. If a pass goes out of bounds the defenders switch with the team that made the error.

Coaching points: Dont just stand next to each other and pass side to side. Dribble in your zone. move off the ball, especially overlapping the ball handler. make the easy pass down he outside in order to loosen up a tight defense. receiving players should be looking to show into areas to receive the ball, especially when the splitting pass is available.

play in teams of 2, 3, 4, etc. groups of 4 is also good for back four training.
