Situation observed from previous game: Improving team's ability to defend as a compact unit and improve pressure, cover and balance
Sectorial Game : 4v4+4 possession Game
Organization:
Space: 25m x 20m
Time: 3 x 3 min sets with 2 min rest in between
Explanation:
4v4+4 possession game. The teams in possession take the positions on the 2 edges of the space while the defending team is in the middle. If defenders win the ball from the reds they pass to blue and then switch with reds who become defenders. The zone means that the defenders cannot defend in another players zone. They have to only pressure within their zone and can provide cover by getting as close to the next zone as possible to cut passing angles.
Key Points:
Out of Possession (focus team blue):
Compact defensive unit
Aggressive pressure player closest to the ball to close angle of the pass
Angle and timing of the press
Coverage of rest of unit to create compactness
Force sideways passes
In Possession (Opposition teams red and yellow - managed):Weight and accuracy of the pass
Play through, around or over the opposition
Limited touches to move the ball quickly
Look for opportunities to break the line forward quickly

Situation observed from previous game: Managing the end of the games when up a goal
Organization:11 v 11 Game

Blue Team is the opposition in a 4-4-2 formation
Space: 2/3 of the length and 5 yards more narrow depth on either side
Time: 3 x 6 min sets with 3 min rest between sets.
Special Rules:
Red team starts the game winning 1-0.
Every time the ball goes out it restarts from the blue team.
If red team scores and they go up 2 goals, if the blue team ties the game it counts as a win for them
Attacking Coaching Points:
Establish possession to slow the game down
Avoid making the game too transitional unless there is a promising counterattack
Get the ball out of pressure quickly and try to switch the side to create more space for possession
Defensive Coaching Points:
Compactness,
Everyone behind the ball
Pressure on the ball at all times
