3 team 2 Square (introduce the #6):
Coach is trigger. Ball played in to the Blue team, who immediately establishes a #6 in middle zone. Yellows send 2 players to press the ball. Blues must complete a set number of passes (4-8) then look to penetrate into the grey wide zones (pass or dribble) and then play accross to the Red team to score 1 point. #6 is NOT confined to the central zone, and can exchange with other players, but while in zone can not be defended but are limited to 1-3 touches depending on level of players. If Blue is successful in penetrating and playing to Red, then Yellow sends 2 new defenders to press Red. If Yellow is successful in their pressure, win the ball and successfully play the ball to Red, they achieve 1 point. If Yellow simply tackles the ball out of play, coach plays a new ball to Red. Regardless, in this transition, the 2 Blue players last in possession must immediately go Press the Red team, Yellow and Blue team exchange positions and roles.
CP's:
-Movement to possess and unbalance defenders, create triangles around the pressing defender
-Support and Width concepts (Left, Right, Split, Support)
-Look to penetrate first but possession and patience is key to successful penetration so don't force play and look to keep the ball until the timing is right
-Build the relationship and movement of the #6, to link up with Backs, maintain possession by providing split options, and helping to switch the point of attack to penetrate on the width

Progression: Pattern play to phase play with progressively increased pressure
Ball starts with goal keeper distribution and the Blue team looks build out and penetrate on the dribble through the gates (2 on the width, 1 central). Start with as little as 1 oppostion player so that there is initial success. From there increase the number of opponents. As in the above diagram, you can implement zones where opposition can pressure the ball. Start 4v1 in the defensive 3rd, and 2v1 in the middle 3rd. These pressing player in Red can only pressure the ball within there zone, while the Blue team in possession is unrestricted in their movement, and outside back should be encouraged to fly forward to penetrate on the width when the timing is appropriate.
CP's: Work on movement timing and mobility of the 6 & 8, showing to the ball to help the Back 4 possess and build while being aware of the movement and shape relative to one another and maintaining balance over the vertical mid-line of the field; Timing of runs to penetrate; Off the ball movement to provide good angles of support, maximizing width, and providing left, right, split and support options; Weight and Accuracy of passess; Communication; Possession vs Penetration

Back 4 Patterns to build out. Start simple with no players being skipped in the sequence.
CP's:
-Players need to show good deep angles to the ball (exagerate) so pass is easy and can be played in front of reciever
-Players should finish their supporting runs with a back peddle to get hips open and eyes up field
-1st touch with away foot to open up
-Speed of play must be game like, minimize touches, weight and accuracy of passess
-Communication is decisive and uses soccer terminology

Scrimmage with Restricted Numbers in Oppositions Defensive Half
For your first rotation of each hour, utilize the "Back 4 Building" Passing Patterns on the previous slide or something similar to get a quick technical warm-up.
7v7 Scrimmage. Both teams play in a 1-3-1-2 Formation. When Blue is in possession, Red can only send 2 players into Blue's defensive half to pressure the ball, and the same for Blue when Red is in possession. When in possession team is unrestricted in their movement. All balls that go out of play over the side line, restart with a kick in. All balls out of play over the end line, restart with GK distribution with hands (must roll out). Play 5 min games and have players change positions.
CP's: Building play concepts; Good angles of support, width and depth (left, right, split, support); Knowing when to keep the ball and when to go forward, Possession vs Penetration; Use the GK, "go home" to help maintain possession when needed

Technical Warm-up
Technical Warm-up Building Patterns:
A) Start with technical dribbling patterns, turns and skill-moves and include dynamic stretching and Speed and Agility patterns. Try to work in moves and turns that will help defenders be more successful escaping pressure while shielding the ball. Players will need these types of moves (hop 'n stop, Cruyff, pull back V's, inside and outside of the foot cuts/turns) to help maintain possession when building up out of the back, so they don't expose the ball when changing direction and give up easy counter attacks.
B & C) Back 4 Passing Patterns to build out. Start simple with no players being skipped in the sequence. Then increase complexity by adding 1-2 combos through the sequence and patterns where an inside back is "skipped" by a pass.
CP's:
-Players need to show good deep angles to the ball (exagerate) so pass is easy and can be played in front of reciever
-Players should finish their supporting runs with a back peddle to get hips open and eyes up field
-1st touch with away foot to open up
-Weight and Accuracy of the pass is critical, with passes needing to be dilivered to the front foot of the reciever so their eyes can remain up field
-Speed of play must be game like, minimize touches, again weight and accuracy of passess must be precise, and the final ball to the width when playing the outside back must maximize the width and be played into space in front of #2 or #3 to allow for successful penetration when switching the point of attack
-Timing of runs based on the cues from the player on the ball
-Communication is decisive and uses soccer terminology (square, support/drop, switch, set, to feet, to space)
