SSG- Switching the play
Plays like a normal game, with the only difference being there is one player from each team locked in each channel. This encourages them to use the wide players and switching the play.
Normal goals count as 1, but if they are able to switch the play from 1 channel to the other before scoring then it is worth 2.
Key coaching points
Width and depth
Playing quick
Using the wide players to help to overload
Progression
Wide players are no longer locked in channel whilst in posession, if they recieve the ball then they are able to drive inside to create extra support.
Out of possession players can drop in the channels to tackel the wide players.
Regression
The wide players are unable to tackle each other.

DescriptionMulti directional, focusing on switching the play. Both teams do both the in possession and the out of possession.
When a team has the ball there job is to try to switch the play from on outside player to the opposite outside player. They are aloud to use the adjacent outside players to support if required.
The out of possession team job is to try to win the ball back, once they win the ball back they become the in possession team and are trying to swtich the play.
If either team manages to switch the play then they get a point.
Key Coaching Points
In possession Using the wide players for widthOpen body shape to receive, to help to speed up the switch.
Movement off the ball away from markers
Play quick
Clear and fill, players must clear an area to create space for their team mates to go into
Out of possession
Compact the middle, create a box
Shuffle across with play
Press on triggers, mistakes, heavy touches etc
Work as a team!
Progressions
If the in possession team can switch the play within 5 seconds then their point is worth 2.
Players are only aloud 2 touches max, this encourages playing quick and having to play under pressure.
Regressions
The team gets a point if they play to adjacent sides, but it still remains as 2 points if they switch the play.
Increase the playing area to give the players more space and freedom on the ball, so they can focus on switching the play as apposed to playing under pressure.
