3 sessions of 2 minutes work with 1 minute rest
Center red markers w/balls on top are 5 yds apart
Blue player markers are 5 yds apart and 10 yds from red markers with balls
On coaches command will call out 1-4, On that call players from one line (A or B) will advance toward number and apply pressure/cover/balance techniques
Players will then back track toward their line and move behind waiting players
On the next call the opposite line will then do the same
Coaching points:
Pressure player to close distance quickly but controlled
Do not be leaning forward, attacking player will go around
Close off opportunity for over the top ball
Where will we use this?
Communicate
Body position
Cover players read cues and shift accordingly
Corresponding cover and balance need to get compact and drop
When tracking back do not get flat and keep athletic open position
