Smothering at Feet

Organization:

  • Group Split into 2 starting between red gates 
  • All Balls start with coach at wide cones  

Details 

  • Coach takes a touch out of their feet for goalkeeper to come smother, goalkeeper drops ball at coaches feet who plays the other side while goalkeeper switches sides 

1st progression :

  • Coach plays a pass to attacker starting in between gate 
  • Attackers dribbles and takes an over exaggerated touch for goalkeeper to come smother 

2nd progression :

  • Attacker now tries to get past goalkeeper and dribble through gates : 2 points for middle gate , 1 point for side gates

  • 2 Pug goals 25-30 yards out angled inwards 
  • 1 defender at top of 18 
  • 2 wide attackers 

Details 

  • Top server plays into target and receives back to open and play a pass into the 18 for wide attacker to run onto 
  • As pass happens defender closes wide player , target player rolls and joins attack to create a 2v1
