Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): Basic

Basic (15 mins)

Rules:

Team keeps possession in the end zone.

Two players from the defending team go in and close down.

After minimum of 5 passes, ball is transferred to opposite end zone and play continues.

Swap defending team regularly.

Progressions:

Make two touch.

Make defending team able to intercept long pass.

Safe Zone (15 mins)

Rules:

Add Safe Zone down the outside.

Defending Team can Not enter the safe zone.

Once minimum of 5 passes have been made the team can dribble into the safe zone and pass down the outside to a player from the other end zone who has moved into the safe zone to receive the pass.

Defending team try to force the team in possession to play the pass in safe zone (wide).

Team in possession try to play pass through the middle if possible, if not then use the safe zone.

Two goals if pass is played through the middle - One goal if the pass is played down the safe zone.
