Session Focus
Controlling the opponent
Looking at the physical contest and how to manage the space the player is allowed
Primer: Pressure box
Blue (A) player is defending and the red player (B) is attacking.
Blue player looks to use their body and their stick to limit the attackers lead then applies physical pressure on pickup to stop the attacker turning or playing forward.
Red player looking to beat defender to ball and score by carrying ball out of any side except where the ball came from (C)
If Blue player wins the ball, they need to carry out either side of the box
Adaption 1: Red C joins attack after passing to create 2v1 - defender applies pressure then adapts to defending overload
Adaption 2: Make box bigger and add another defender to create 2v2
Defender who doesn't pickup works in tandem with the other defender to mange the space and force the attacker one way

4v3 into 9v9 SUP
4v3 possession into 9v9 counter attack and defence
4v3 in one box and 3v4 in the other with 2x DvA in 25 (replicate Primer competitive element)
The team with the numerical advantage has possession in their respective boxes and play to retain possession - whichever team of 4 makes 5 consecutive passes without the opposition touching the ball first earns the right to attack the goal and all players from both boxes join in (the other box leaves their ball and scrambles to get ahead/organise defence).
If Defenders win the ball, they need to carry out/connect with a player through any of the 4 gates.
Goalkeeper - organise defence, loud in chat, reads break away and makes effective decisions about coming out/staying back etc
