Warm Up (10 mins)
Set u- 6 boxes- 15x15
Instruction-
Players are set up 5v1 in box depending on numbers with 1 player in each box oppsite to receive the ball. Once 5 passes are completed uninterupted the ball can be transferred to the player in opposite box. The player who switches the play must stay in the box the players vacated to recieve the next switch. The last player into box becomes the new defender.
If the defending players intercepts the ball he switches with whoever gives the ball away.
To start with teams can only play back and forwards
progressions
1. Teams can now switch play to othe boxes with same conditons as before.
2. Limit touches players can take
3. Increase number of passes before transferring
4. Add another defender in to make 4v2
Coaching Points:
Angle of body to receive pass ( similar to what we worked on yesterday- Reinforcing)
Moving the ball away from pressure
Decision making when making passes and transferring ( although you may have made x number of passes may not be on to switch)
Vision of what is going on around you at all times
Concentration- once ball is switched, last player over becomes defender so they need to think fast to accelerate over into the other box
Accuracy of pass- weight
