Description

This week we will place the players into a different environment & theme to bring out some different ball mastery player attributes, teaching the players to use different surfaces of their feet to be more coordinated with the ball, change pace,and recognise shooting as an end product. with some of jungle books leading characters (coach) being an element of pressure throughout the session.

Organization:

1.20 x 20 yard area, set up as shown

2.1 ball per player

Story/Description:

1.The coach is the tagger (sheir khan the Tiger) the players are the young animals of the jungle (refer to animal characteristics from the first sessions.

2.If the player gets tagged they must stand like statues until a free players unfreezes them

3. players start with 4 safe zone life lines they can enter the safe zones in the corners of the jungle for 3 seconds then they must leave and connot re enter that safe zone again during the game.

Coaching Points:

1.Make sure to stay in the magical forest (area)

2.Keep your head up and look out for the coach

3.Stand as still as you can when tagged

Developments:

1.Add the ball

2.Allow players to unfreeze other players by megs throught there legs

Baloo the bear Says (15 mins)

Organization:

20x30 grid

Players with ball

split players into two teams

Instructions:

baloo says game;

-Coach Baloo the bear shouts instructions; hands on head, touch your knee, hop on one leg, sit on ball, stand up, dribble away big touch or small touch, jump over ball, then shrek will tell the players on one team to get into one of the yellow zones and perform Foundations (pendulums, toe taps,).

see if the players recognise their color and react quick to get into the yellow zones other tem will still dribble in the middle of the grid.

1. Listen to baloo carefully

2. Keep your head up so that you don’t bum p into other players

3. Encourage a change of speed and direction

Progressions:

Add cones for players to go around, jump ect.

Add goals to shoot as end product players can only score in the yellow zone

Main Activity King Louie the monkey king (15 mins)

Story /Description :

1. the monkeys from the other side of the jungle have been annoying King louie all day by steeling all the bannanas from his stash

2. king louie the monkey king has to take back the bannanas (pinnies/ball) before the monkeys get back to the other side of the jungle to their hide out (pinnies tucked in shorts as the monkey tails holding the bannanas

3. Once all the monkeys have been caught, the game ends

Instructions:

monkeys must get from Zone A to Zone B with out losing their tails holding the bananas.

Coaching Points:

1. Look around and be aware of where king louie is at at all times

2. Keep louie in front of you at all tim es to avoid having your tail taken

3. Change of speed and direction to avoid being caught

4. When using ball, have small touches to keep ball near, BIG touches when open space to get away from louie.

Developments:

1. P - monkeys turn into guards once their tail has been pulled

2. P - monkeys run with ball.

3. P - monkeys will get into the end zone with their ball and score.

Organization:

1. Area size 20 x 30.

Instructions:

1. Players split up into teams and play a round robin tournament where all teams play.

2. players must not step inside the red cone areas infront of goal this will stop goal tending ,the players must shoot from out side the area

Coaching Points:

over the 8 weeks we would like to start to implement:

1. 3 lines of attack, 1 defender, 1 midfielder, 1 forward.

2.Team mates create gaps, can player in possession look to dribble into them.

3.when to Dribble,Pass or Shoot

4.reinforce the caracteristics of each foundational player and how the use the foot work with the space they have.

Restarts

(Week 3) the restarts will be played in with a kick in for kindergardners to take a good first touch from a kick in when they receive they must perform toe taps or pendulums twice to go live.
