Counter Attack (50 mins)

Practice - Set up.

Length 60 by 44 width

Offsides from half way line.

Practice starts as a 2v2

The player who has a shot has to run around the goal.

2 new players (with a ball ready) come on and attack the 1 remaining defender.

This continues for the allocated time (5 minute rounds).

 

This then builds to 3v2 on the next round. 4v3 the round after etc.

Running with the ball & Breaking Lines

Minimal touches to cover distance but retain possession

Head up while on the run, assess and make good decision

Both feet protect off both sides when under pressure

Forward passing (Timing, feet or space)

Timing and weight of pass

Pass selection or stay on the ball

Disguise of pass make unpredictable

Movement of support players

Threaten in behind timing of runs

Create space to receive or space for the man on the ball

Third man runs/blind side runs
