7v3. Focus is on the defending 3 trying not to be split. Play for a set period of time, rotate and keep track of group who gets split the most. If defenders win the ball or force turnover, defenders get a point to subtract from split total. Add up after round. Token punishment for group with highest point total.
Coaching points:
- stay connected (hunt as a pack)
- 1 presses ball (nearest defender), other 2 get into supporting spaces to block passes
- communication is vital
- try to keep attackers playing around the outside (predictability)
- close down, slow down, sit down
- body shape of supporting defenders ( open to ball and other attackers)

SSG w/ 4 wide goals. Both teams line up in a 3-2. Focus is on defending as a unit now.
Coaching points:
- pressure to delay (speed/distance/angle)
- support 1st defender (deny penetration)
- stay connected as a group (balance)
- deny attackers use of flank, force into central areas where support is
- try to force attackers to play sideways (predictability)
- when ball is high up the pitch, front 2 defending players force attacking team to one side or the other. Don't follow the ball, just focus on not allowing ball to be played back across the middle. The Back 3 defenders now tip into the ball and try to force a turnover by pressing onto players to deny space.

SSG (Global) (30 mins)
SSG w/ 2 zones. 3v2 in both zones (for team in possession). When ball is passed or dribbled across half way line, player follows to create an attacking 3v2. Focus is on defending 2. When ball is won, 3rd attacker now has to do a recovery run and other team looks to play through. Switch roles after a set period of time.
Coaching points:
- stay connected. Don't get pulled apart
- 1 presses ball to delay, 1 drops in on supporting angle (elevators)
- don't get caught in a straight line (square)
- show attackers in to support (communicate)
- body shape of supporting defender (open to both ball and other attacker)
