Very intense session that is putting players into uncomfortable situations and seeing how they react.
As the theme of the week was passing under pressure, this is the perfect test to see if the players have gotten better or not, while preparing them for the match on the weekend. The possession-based game helps players shift the ball into space and do quick combinations, while the small-sided match brings more match-realistic situations for the players to react to.
Schedule:
Reaction Box: 15 minutes
Warm up/Stretching: 15 minutes
Small Sided stations: 40 minutes
Match: 20 minutes

This is a small-sided session that has 2 separate stations.
The first station (left), is a 4v4 possession-based game. Players must play a 1-2 through the gates in order to get a point. If the team gets 10 passes that is also a point. As soon as the ball goes out, the coach will pass one back in, there should be no rest of the players.
The second station (right) is a small-sided match with no limitations. The goalkeeper always starts with the ball, regardless where the ball goes out. Again, it should be back and forth with a high level of intensity.
3 minute sets with 2 minutes rest. 20 minutes each side.

Simple match:
Box to Box
As this is the last session of the week, work on what formation you will be playing for the match on Saturday. As the session was already very intense, go throughtactics and make sure your players understand everything that they need to know!

Reaction Box
This is a good arrival activity/ warm up where players are listening to the colour that the couch shouts.
The coach will shout out 1, 2 or 3 colours and the players have to go and touch all the cones in that order. As soon as the coach blows the whistle, the players run to the mannequin.
PROGRESSION possibilities, players all have a football and have to dribble with the football. The coach holds up the cone instead of shouting it so that players have to look up and check.
